Making friends

Callie is starting to get more interested in playing with others and making new friends.

At swimming, there is a little girl named Cora (live that name!). They talk about lollipops and Cora is so sweet to refer to anything blue as "Callie blue".

Maya is a sweetie from school. Callie always mentions her when talking about friends at school. Last week she even invited her over to our house to play! To which maya replied - my mommy is too tired so I can't come but if she is not tired then she can come.

At the library, Callie started playing with a few new friends she met. They were dancing and singing on stage and playing mommy/daddy/baby.

Last day of soccer - and other misc

Yesterday was Callie's last day of soccer class! It was too bad because she was just starting to warm up! Coach Nick is a boy and Callie is not a big fan of boys. She always insists on a girl checker at the super market or a girl worker to help us whenever we are at the store ( or at the fair buying tickets). So I was pretty surprised when C was willing to chase coach Nick around and pick up soccer supplies and return them to him! He was super nice to let Callie pick out the dark blue soccer sticker and had a fresh pack of stickers ready for her each time.

Fire! (And 2nd haircut)

Yikes! This past Friday was such a crazy experience! It started off fine with a trike-a-thon at Callie's school. It was so hot! The poor kiddos! Callie was still super happy and I was so glad to be able to surprise her!

Later that day - we went to sparkles and spikes for Callie's 2nd haircut.

This was her reaction to her new look. "I want my hair back!" She was not a fan.

But she wasn't too too upset. Could still say cheese for the camera. :)

We had some blue ice cream and played in the playground for a bit before heading home - where we noticed a big rain cloud.

But it wasn't a rain cloud! It was a wildfire - right in our neighborhood! You can see the burn line and gong gongs/nai nais beige van and Lexus in our driveway! That's how close it was!

And our house in the aerial - all caught on the news!

Thank goodness we are all safe! Now we need to find a treat for the firefighters to say thank you!!

Making friends

Callie's been making friends! We went and visited katie and tommy at mrs Jennifer's house and Callie had a blast. We did bubbles, chalk and had a selicious dinner. Callie ate all of chef Eric's food right up! When asked whether she had fun, Callie responded with a resounding yes! Then when asked if bubbles were her favorite part - Callie said "yes! ... And the iPad... And the eating!" Lol!

Callie has been taking swimming lessons and she has been doing great! Another little girl thought Callie was too cute. She sat down and Callie crawled up to the chair right with her then goes -" mommy take a picture of me and my friend!" So funny!

Floating! Callie - after 4 weeks of lessons, is able to float, hold on to the wall, and swim short distances! She's using her swimming arms and kicking legs and isn't afraid to jump into the water! Whee! So proud!

Puppy!

Yesterday Callie and I went to the pet store after school! We looked at the puppies and they were adorbs.

This one in particular was too too sweet!

Callie called him a her and said she was Callie puppy, not a baby but a little dog since Callie is not a baby either.

There were hugs and a little kiss with her wet nose. It was the first time Callie played with a dog so it was extra special.

We walked around the mall later and Callie got to pick the stores we visited. We went to pottery barn and Williams Sonoma. Great picks Callie - can't wait to go shopping with you when you grow up!

Passport photo

Callie got her passport pictures and it was hilarious. The lady at costco kept telling her a series of orders so she could get the picture just right (apparently a neutral expression is preferred). One by one - the lady would bark orders and take a picture... no smiling, be serious! Hands on lap, put shoulders down, smile a little, sit up straight, look at the camera! Callie kept changing her body posture and facial expression based on the new instructions. It was so funny.
