Snowman Daddy

Callie has really been enjoying her Kiwi Crates, which are monthly subscription boxes with craft activities.  We opened the one for Wintertime and Callie made a snowman/woman that she could knock over with a fake snowball (Must be careful, Callie is very observant towards gender - so need to be accurately describing these things!)  Later, she decided decorate Daddy as Snowdadddy, complete with a hat, carrot nose, coals for a mouth and buttons too.  Daddy was such a good sport!

First Movie Theater Experience!

Yesterday, Callie had her first real movie theater experience!  (I will go ahead and say that The Good Dinosaur on the Disney Cruise last December didn't count since Callie slept through most of it!)

So using our thrifty saavy, Mike and I scored some free tickets using our Tmobile Tuesday app and grabbed some free tickets to go watch Finding Dory!  Callie seemed to really enjoy the popcorn and laughed quite a bit.  Little Dory was super cute and there were a few times that Callie would say - "I don't want to watch this!" when scary parts came up in the movie.  But we would talk through it and everything ended up being A-OK.  She did notice the projector in the back and how I wish we could've read up on how movie projectors work so that we could've made this into a learning experience.  I would guess her favorite was looking for Hank at the end of the credits. haha!

Siblings are Special!

Callie attended a special Siblings are Special class at Los Robles Hospital in anticipation of being a big sister!  We were running a little late, so we were a bit discombobulated when we walked in (hence the "huh?" face in the pic! LOL).  She wasn't quite ready to pick a baby to be her sister, so mommy went ahead and picked up one up (an ethnic baby - hehe) so that she could play big sister with it.

The class was super cute.  They talked about how to hold a baby (support the neck and be gentle with their soft heads) and not to touch the belly button.  They read a few books and things that big sisters/brothers can do with the baby and then let the kids make a special gift for the baby!  Callie wrote her name and decorated the picture with stickers and wrote a few "words" on the bottom!

Callie is going to be a great big sister and I can't wait to watch the bond form between lil/big sis! <3

Graduation Time!

Callie has officially graduated from the Owl Class with Teacher Diana and Teacher Kristen.  We celebrated at her school with a few songs - "Each of us is a flower" and "The world is a Rainbow!"  Super adorbs as the kids tried to remember the lyrics - at least they got the chorus down!  Callie especially likes to dance to the Rainbow song!  Gong gong and Nai Nai came along to celebrate the festivities!  Soon Callie will be joining the Owl Class with Ms Carmen.  She's already started transitioning and has been doing great!  I can't believe how fast she's grown up!  She started school in the Hummingbird class with Teachers Diana and Sarah (She really does miss Sarah alot!) and back then, her little 2 year old self could barely handle the play structure - now she is all over it!

Thanks for watching!

Today, Callie was playing independently-  throwing a balloon up in the air and catching it again,  while talking to herself.  I overhear her saying... "If you like this video,  please subscribe to my channel! Thanks for watching! "  hmmm it may be time to start limiting her screen time... :(

Callie in charge

Callie is really growing up!  Today she instructed daddy and i on a few games she made up.  First it was whoever catches the pillow wins a prize (she did it twice so we can both win.  But she did purposefully throw it to mommy first haha! ), then it was where she would call our name to come up and pretty Rody (toy ride on horse) and we would get a prize. Look at us with our prizes! (Visor, toy cow, owls). Just like we were coming back from a carnival!

Road trip #4

Our last real roadtrip day was spent at gilroy farms! What a fun little amusement park for little toddlers!

Story for Callie

Hi Callie!  I thought I would tell you a story about how silly your daddy was when we first brought you home!  When you first came home, you were only pooing like once every 1-2 days.  Daddy didn't know how to read the poop chart, so thought you only needed to poo once every 5 days and not 5 times every day.  So by  the time we went to see the doctor - we were in trouble!  You weren't eating enough and needed to gain some weight!  We were so worried!  We basically started a strict regimen of force-feeding you every 2 hours around the clock!  You would get so sleepy but we would do every thing we could to wake you up!  We would undress you into your diaper, stroke your head, face and back and would even take a wet washcloth and wipe your face with it to keep you up (you did not like that at all!).  Since you were so sleepy, you wouldn't suckle to feed - we would manually express breastmilk into your mouth!  Both daddy and I had to work at it, it was quite a debaucle!

One time, daddy ran out of the room saying he had a great idea!  And came back with a lint roller and proceeded to use the roller on mommy like she was pizza dough!  X(  It did not work!!  He also came back with a wooden massager (think tripod with round balls at the end!) I had to shoo him outta there - it was getting quite ridiculous! Needless to say - we were pretty clueless parents.. its amaxibg you turned iut as great as you did. Love u!

Date night

Mike and I had our first date night away from Callie this Friday - its was our pseudo-celebratory dinner for Mike's promotion, Valentine's Day, and to satisfy my postpartum sushi fix. Plus, there was a travelzoo voucher that made it a decent deal for $89 for 2! Yes - it takes a lot for us to go out for a nice dinner!

We're not foodies - we usually eat at at the local pho restaurant and frequent hamburger joints (although Mike would disagree - he says we like good food - which makes us foodies, we just don't go to fancy restaurants... Uhhh who doesn't like good food?)

Well in true foodie form, here are some pics from last night's 5 course dinner plus Amuse busche + sake at Onyx at the Four Seasons Westlake... Cheers!

Cheers!

May/June notes

Its been awhile since I last posted!  After switching to a new phone and finding that that blogger android app crashes constantly,  is been a real challenge!  Hope tupelo going to the desktop sire to update posts will be much better! Here's some quick notes from recent days!

Callie in the magic mirror. We went to a fairy tales in the park production of snow white and the mirror was her favorite!  Also, wearing her favorite whale dress... thanks pris!
