Christmas 2014

The holidays are so much more fun and meaningful when you have children! Callie is really enjoying her 2nd Christmas! She got to meet Santa, opened a few presents, made a gingerbread house, passed out cookies to neighbors and decorate the Christmas tree (and pick out the tree topper!)

She got her first bike this Christmas and although she's a little short - she loves it! She's talking more and more and is doing more independent play as well.

Shifty eyes & 2nd bday party

Callie turned 2 today! We celebrated with a blue crown coronation in the morning, and ended it with a trip to Chuck E Cheese and some chocolate cake. Callie was so excited and all smiles when we arrived. When asked whether she likes Mickey Mouse more or chuck e cheese, we were all surprised she said chuckee!  She was great at collecting tickets (so was mommy who surprisingly was the only adult scrambling on the floor for tix after chuckee decided to make it rain after his dance routine). Chuckee even came to sing happy birthday to Callie (Callie would say "me!!" And gesture to herself Whenever we got to the you parts for the song) and there were lots of high fives. It took about 10 puffs, but Callie blew out the candles all by herself! 125 tickets later - we had ourselves a whistle and foam rocket! Yereessss!

Here are Callie's shifty eyes - she does this when she's being sneaky and pretending she doesn't hear you... But we'll catch her looking at us from the corner of her eye. Can't fool mommy and daddy, Callie!!!

Selfies!

We just got a new selfie stick.... So you know what that means... More Callie/mommy selfies!!!!

Callie's been talking non stop lately. It's become harder to understand what she's saying because now she uses a mix of imagination and made up words as she talks out loud. I did catch the following today... "I get the purse and go home to see daddy" as she grabs an imaginary purse from an empty box and puts it on....

She also sang the entire abc song this morning by herself... "A is for apple, ah ah apple... B is for ball, ba ba ball..." Wow Callie! Now if only we can get you to do that after we press record! Doh!

Dance and twirl and thank you's

Dance dance dance!! Callie is having tons of fun with calf and moo moo. Nai nai is over the moon as Callie kept saying nonstop yesterday at dinner - "thank you for the delicious meal today". I love when Callie says thank you - she'll say it three times in a row "oh thank you thank you thank you!!" And looks so appreciative. Love you Callie!

Callie sayings

I love listening to things that Callie will say. It amazes me how she is putting her own words and thoughts together.

Today she played with mikes cherry Chapstick and while trying to take the cap off, she pulled the wrapper off (with the cherry design) and says "cherry Chapstick is broken.. Time to buy a new one". I can't ever recall saying a phrase like that to her before! How she picks up on this hurt fascinates me!

On Saturday, we ate fruit salad and had pretzel sticks and plain Greek yogurt at school. We dip pretzel sticks with hummus at home, so Callie started calling the Greek yogurt - "white humus"..

Stuff like this happens all the time and it just cracks me up.. Some recent pics...

November update

Been busy busy busy at the Ing house! Today we turned in our paperwork at Roots and Wings to start in January - we are hoping everything goes well! I like their philosophy a lot - a mix of play based, Reggio, montessori - and they have great reviews, but today's visit - it seemed so chaotic! I'm not gonna lie - feeling a bit nervous! We did spend some time there with Marcus and Kaitlyn from our Saturday program - so it was nice to see some friendly faces!

Callie has been very talkative as well. I'm hearing all sorts of new words - lately she's been saying things are "perfect". Eg - I fix her hair... Perfect! It's nice that she thinks everything is so perfect! Today she said mommy was super duper! Yay! What a self esteem booster - thank you Callie!

One of her bday gifts is rody. When we opened it - she started hugging it and giving it kisses and saying I love you rody. But then yesterday, she goes - "mommy get a blue one for Callie to ride". I said a blue what? She says - a blue rody! I told her orange rody would have to go away... She seemed to have no problem with that! Deflated and packed up orange rody for an exchange - no tears, no sad face. Adios orange rody! Sorry Callie's love is very fickle. One day you're in - the next you're out!

Callie's been loving peekaboo since well - forever! Here's a trip to Olive Garden - their napkins were too irresistible!

Callie's first computer - she loves this thing... Future computer programmer? Look how focused and docent she is!

See - she's got the glasses for it already! Love you Callie!

Disneyland!

Callie went on her 2nd trip to Disneyland and she had so much fun! It's great seeing her become more aware and enjoying everything out there! We went on a bunch of rides and some of them were surprisingly scary! Pinocchio, dumbo (Callie loved this), buzz light year (buzz was scaring her), Winnie the Pooh, little mermaid, mater truck ride (c LOVED this one), some tire ride, bugs life lady bug ride and to end it all - she got to meet Mickey Mouse! She was so excited to see the characters and so sweet meeting Mickey - she went in for a hug then turned around and backed into it like she was getting ready for a picture. She also gave Mickey a high five and a kids on the cheek! So sweet! When I ask her what her favorite part of the trip was - she says... See Mickey Mouse! It is so adorbs!

Mommy and Callie on Blue dumbo (she would yell out up and down!)
Minnie Mouse ears!
High five Mickey!

Sleep sack...

Callie loves to play with her sleep sack. She loves to put it over her head and had gone through a phase where shed have us count to 10 and shed pop her head out to surprise us. Her latest thing is to pretend to give you the sleep sack "here you go mommy" and then yank it away "no no no no" and laugh hysterically. Then I'd say "you tricked me! You trickster!" Then after a few, she'd give me the sleep dack and I would yank it away from her before she grabs it. That's even more funny to her! Once she does get it - ill say - Callie Is too fast for mommy / and she'll repeat that. :)

Callie is such a sweet girl - she fell back to lie down and bonked me on the nose hard! I was rubbing it saying owwww - and she goes "let Callie kiss it" thanks Callie! It feels much better now. :)

Pumpkin family

Callie had such a great time at the pumpkin patch! She picked out a little one perfect for her little hands. She also picked a bigger one for daddy and a green one for mommy. It is our pumpkin family and she will give us our respective pumpkins to hold. (Nai nai is a pumpkin eraser and gong gong gets no pumpkin). The pumpkins will hug and kids. Callie held her pumpkin forever the first day... Even sleeping with it in the car seat.

For this year, Callie was a chicken. The picture was taken right after Callie picked her nose and said - here you go mommy. Lol - what is it with nose picking???

Fizzy fizzy colors

My baaaaabyyyy is now officially 22 months old. She's not a little baby anymore! She's got her own little mind and sense of humor and I love seeing her develop into her own self so very much!

I still cradle her like a baby and say in a dramatic voice... " my baaaabyyyy" with a sad face and Callie will repeat that in a funny voice and say mommy's sad. Yes! Mommy is sad! You are growing up too too fast!

Everyday there are little something's that makes me so happy. Lately, Callie's been very into "putting on her sleep sack" all by herself. Once I grab it - Callie will say - "Callie do it!!!" And take it and put it over her head. Then she will (or ask me to) count to 10 and she takes off the sleep sack and say "Callie's under the sleep sack!" This happens for 5 or so times - which really starts to push back our bedtime! I told Callie today - ok I will wait my turn. Then after awhile Callie would hold out the sleep sack and say "here you go mommy" only to yank it back laughing and saying no no no after I start reaching for it! That happened about 4 times before she willingly gave it to me! Oh Callie - you are such a tease!

We also read the farm animal book today and Callie suggested counting the animals. I would point to each one and she would count up - by the time we got to 22 she was so giddy!!! The count kept going higher and you could tell that was so funny to her. She kept going and counted all 29 animals! She was near delirious! Lol!

Here is Callie playing with colored vinegar, a dropper and some baking soda!  We even mixed colors! Whee!

Vegas 2014

Today is day 2 of Callie's first Vegas trip! Callie had a great time enjoying the pool at Mandalay Bay - although is say she enjoys any pool! Unfortunately, it was so cold - she was shivering and her lips were turning blue! Even with that she never wants to leave! After a 2 hr nap, We went to the shark encounter/aquarium at the hotel and met up with cousin Taylor and uncle Thiem and aunt tram- Callie was loving all the fish-ies! Even the humongous kimono dragon that elcomed us (who became very alert and started "licking" his lips after seeing Callie - yikes!) She would wave and say "hi, how are you today?" And when they don't answer, she'd say "Callie asked you a question." Mommy had to step in and say in a fake voice - "I am good, thank you for asking"

They did have an amazing tank with humongous great white sharks and sea turtles and saw fish! We went into the walk through tunnel and Callie started getting scared! The sawfish came right at then over us and Callie started saying scared - mommy didn't understand until she signed for scared - which right afterwards another saw fish came which put Callie into tears! We left right after - poor Callie!

This is exactly what the sawfish looked like - just inches away from our face!

After a glutinous trip the the Caesars buffet - we brought back an overtired toddler way past her bedtime to put down for her nap (whoops!)

Some pics of Callie at circus circus! Day 1 was not a hit! Too overstimulating!

Sept update

Things have been pretty hectic for us  lately so we haven't had a chance to post as much as I would've liked... But that's not to say that Callie hasn't been doing all sorts of picture worthy stuff!

9/11 visit to the fire station with cookies! (FYI - apparently fire fighters are not too keen on sweets - they get tons!)

Callie is mastering her hand skills... Here she says "awesome" with a thumbs up. And "I'll have my ppl call your ppl". She's also figured out how to hold up 1,2,3,4 or 5 fingers!

Callie the purple hippo. She loves to "swim" on the blanket!

Trip to Washington DC (photoshopped!)
Forced pose "smile and give me thumbs up!"
Callie doesn't take "gym" time too seriously at Gymboree...

Kaylees Bday party at under the sea - another smile and give me thumbs up pose lol

First "free" trip to disney land! Riding it's a small world. Enjoying the animation room and chasing the lights! And post nap tantrum - mommy's shirt was taken as a casualty... Boo hoo

Couldn't get a good shot... But Callie would hold her hands together and tilt her head like she was praying before eating

Enjoying our afternoons at the park now that the weathers cooled down... :)

"Mommy what chu doing?"
"I'm watching you play Callie"
Our regular conversations...

Love you sweetie pie!
