Callie is so sweet. Lately I've been a bit worried with Callie's pretend play (insisting we make moo moo do naughty things and resultingly get disciplined - eg saying potty words like poo poo, not eating healthy foods and sneezing on people and refusing to apologize, etc). But a few incidences lately have made me realize how empathetic she can be. The other day she asked what would happen if we didn't have bones.. to Souci i replied that our bodies would be like jelly. Later that day, i pulled out a lift the flap body book and we went over muscles and bones. I told her the story of how i being my leg while skiing a long time ago and how i was in a cast for months. She asked a few questions and then 5 minutes later started bawling - saying don't do that again! It was really sweet. I explained that is ok, we all have accidents and our body heals. Just some ouwies tale longer than others. To which she replied, but my ouwies are short and yours is much longer! I gave her some cuddles and then told her about uncle Dave and the bar in her broken arm. Eventually she called down but she was so sweet and concerned for my well being!
Earlier today, nai nai, callie and i went to visit auntie Corina at her work. We went to a mexican restaurant afterwards and in usual fashion, fought over the bill. Callie was a bit confused and i explained that we all wanted to do something nice for each other and pay for each other's dinner. That Corina wanted to pay, and nai nai wanted to pay and I wanted to pay. To which Callie got very upset by and started crying saying dont do that! Next time mommy pays! Yes - thanks Callie for having my back!
